The Balance System

Hello, today's blog post is about what you can do to help your balance and why you feel dizzy after spinning really fast.

What is the human balance system? The body's balance system works through a constant process of position detection, feedback and adjustment using communication between the inner ear, eyes, muscles, joints and the brain. Deep inside the ear, positioned just under the brain, is the inner ear.

What are some techniques you can do to improve your balance? Stand on one leg, Stand with your eyes closed and Stand on one leg while your head swings side to side.

Why do people feel dizzy after spinning? If you spin around really fast, the fluid in your ear moves really fast too. This is what happens when you first start to feel dizzy. When you stop spinning, your head stops moving but the fluid in your ear keeps spinning. This is what makes you feel dizzy again.

So today's blog is about what I want my LED sign to look like.

I found an image of what I would like my LED sign to look like. 

I would like it to look like this because I'm making it for my Dad and his favorite cars are Holdens.

I would like it to be clear acrylic plastic. I would like It how the image shows. I would want red LEDs. I would like how the image above looks. The shape of it will be a square. The LEDs I'm using will have 4.5V (Volts/Voltage)

The Bombing Of The Rainbow Warrior:

In 1985, French secret service agents were sent to plant two bombs on our flagship. The Rainbow Warrior was ahead of its journey leading a peaceful anti-nuclear protest. The sinking of Rainbow Warrior, codenamed Opération Satanique, was a bombing operation by the "action" branch of the French foreign intelligence services, the Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure, carried out on 10 July 1985.

The evening of 10 July saw a lively atmosphere aboard the Rainbow Warrior as the crew and guests celebrated Steve Sawyer’s birthday. Margaret Mills, another crew member, had baked a birthday cake decorated with a jelly bean rainbow. People mingled and enjoyed drinks and slices of cake. Little did they know that one of the guests was a French spy, observing all that was taking place to feed back to his colleagues. The spy departed just after 8pm, and at about 8.15pm, the skippers of all the protest yachts going to Mururoa descended into the hold of the Rainbow Warrior for a planning meeting. Outside, French combat divers were attaching two bombs to the ship’s hull below the water line. The divers had motored across the harbour in an inflatable zodiac dinghy from a secluded launching ramp at Stanley Point, Devonport.

After planting the bombs, the pair escaped by swimming west towards the Auckland Harbour Bridge to be picked up. The pilot of the zodiac motored towards Mechanics Bay to be picked up by a campervan.

Close to midnight, with their guests gone, the Rainbow Warrior’s skipper Peter Willcox and some of the crew went off to bed. The remainder sat around the mess room table, chatting and enjoying the last bottles of beer.

The French agents in a zodiac dinghy motored across from Stanley Point (red) to Marsden Wharf (purple) where the Rainbow Warrior lay. The two divers escaped by swimming towards Auckland Harbour Bridge while the zodiac pilot motored towards Mechanics Bay (blue) to be picked up by a campervan.

How to win at badminton

 Hello Everyone, Today's blog post is about how to win a game of badminton.

In order to win a game of badminton you have to score 21 points, but if you both have 20 points then you have to get 22 points to win the game so you have to be 2 points ahead of the opponents to win the game.

in order to get a point you have to hit it over the net and it has to hit the ground but if you don't hit the ground and the opponents hit it then you don't get the point. another way to get a point is for the other team to get it out of the area you are playing in, you can also get a point if the other them doesn't make it over the net at least twice.

The effect of drugs on the mind & body

Hello people, today's blog post is about the effect of drugs on the mind and body, Surprise at the end.

Marijuana, weed, pot, dope, grass. They’re different names for the same drug that comes from the cannabis plant. You can smoke it, vape it, drink it, or eat it. Most folks use marijuana for pleasure and recreation. Regardless of the number of people living in a dwelling, no more than 12 plants can be grown per residence. The plants must also be grown and stored safely in an enclosed area, which only authorized adults can access. Individuals will be allowed to carry only 14-grams of dried cannabis in a public space. The 14-gram rule applies to the amount of cannabis an individual is allowed to purchase in a day. 

Who is involved…

A Lot of people smoke Cannabis and a lot of them are 16 and older. According to the United Nations, 158.8 million people around the world use marijuana which is more than 3.8% of the planet's population.

What are the laws and penalties?

The maximum penalty for possession of cannabis is imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or a $500 fine.

What are the positive and negative outcomes?

A positive of smoking Cannabis is that Cannabis contains Cannabidiol (CBD) which is a chemical that impacts the brain, making it function better.

Another positive

The main psychoactive ingredient, THC, stimulates the part of your brain that responds to pleasure, like food. That unleashes a chemical called dopamine, which gives you a euphoric, relaxed feeling.

A negative effect 

If you vape or smoke weed, the THC could get into your bloodstream quickly enough for you to get your high in seconds or minutes. The THC level usually peaks in about 30 minutes, and its effects may wear off in 1-3 hours. If you drink or eat pot, it may take many hours for you to fully sober up.

The thing that influences people to do drugs is their friends, family members, and other people they know.

3 Strategies to get of it:

One: Going cold turkey basically what you do is lock yourself away and game or sleep but make sure you can't get out but people can get in so you can still eat and go to the bathroom.

Two: Slowly stop smoking as much as you normally would.

Three: Go to rehab

Term 2 Reflection

Hello, today I am talking about my term 2 reflection.

My highlights from term 2. One of my highlights is making the bullet train in the S.T.E.A.M projects the only downside is that we weren't able to make it move because there wasn't enough time and because we just weren't allowed, it would have been cool to be able to make it move.

The challenge was making the bullet train because we didn't know how to start off but I was away sick and my group/Jayden starting gluing cardboard together and it turned out great, I did help out with the rest of the bullet train.

My option subjects were Metalwork, Woodwork, and Art. In Metalwork, I learned how to make a dog tag, In Woodwork, I learned how to make a trey, In Art, I learned how to shade different things in.

Today's blog post is about my term 1 reflection.

In term 1 my highlight was probably just hanging out with friends. My favorite subject was woodwork because we made some cool things in there like, my least favorite subject was probably metalwork because we didn't do anything with metal because it started turning into a digital tech. the hardest thing was getting used to going to sleep early and getting up early in the morning. Things I want to do in term 2 is to get better at painting/drawing because I'm not too good at it.

Hands in icy water!!!

Today's blog post is about hands in icy water. Hands in icy water means putting your hands in icy water then warm water.

So in science Ethan and I had to put our hands in icy cold water then warm water it didn't really feel like anything special just normal old water. We put our hands in hot water then warm water and it just felt the same so this experiment was for nothing.

Protests Activities

Today's blog post is about protests, if you don't know what protests are they are big groups of people that hold posters up in the air of something they don't want to happen and they also keep yelling out something. 

1. What are some interesting facts about protests.

Protests were formed by a bunch of people to save our native forest, Rivers, Lakes and endangered species. The biggest environmental protest was in 2003 called the Ge-Free Marches. Some protests course riots and for stores to constantly get robbed and store windows to get smashed. 

2. What I learned.

I never use to know that some protests course store to get robbed and windows to get smashed I thought that all protests were peaceful but no some course riots. I learned that not everyone liked some protests so they formed anti protests to stop those protests.

3. My opinion.

In my opinion, I say that not all protests are right and not all of the protests are wrong, I say that no matter what the protest is about you support them in it unless it's a riot or a store robbing protest only join the calm ones.

Woman's Suffrage.

FOR MORE THAN 70 YEARS, the women’s suffrage movement in the United States fought for women’s right to vote. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States. Yet while suffrage leader Carrie Chapman Catt affirmed, in her 1923 book Woman Suffrage and Politics, that the suffragists had made an “unmistakable popular demand for a just cause,” she admitted in a private letter that only about a third of American women supported suffrage, while another third opposed it, and the rest essentially didn’t care.

Gravity

Today's blog post is about Gravity and how it works in space.

1. Is gravity the same on all planets? No, because all planets are of different sizes. If a planet is bigger the stronger the gravity will be and if a planet is smaller the weaker the gravity will be.

2. How is gravity related to mass? Gravity is related to mass because an object that is bigger will have more mass and the more mass it has the more gravity it has inside but this won't always be the case.

3. Calculate your weight on the other planets in our solar system. I would weigh 22.5kg on Mercury, 54.2kg on Venus, 22.6kg on Mars, 139.5kg on Jupiter, 55.4kg on Saturn, 54.8kg on Uranus, and 66.8kg on Neptune. Have a go and see what you weigh on these planets.

4. Would your life be different if you lived on a planet with higher gravity? Yes, my life would be different if I lived on a planet with a higher gravity because you'll be slower you'll feel really heavy you won't be able to run as fast as you would on Earth. With lower gravity? Yes, my life would also be different with lower gravity because I would be able to reach to top-shelf without climbing on the bench it would probably feel like I'm flying I might even be able to jump over a big hill.

Gold Rush

Today's blog post is about how much I know about Gold Mining and discrimination. I don't know much but I do know some stuff. They started Gold Mining in the 19th century and Gold was first discovered in the Tuapeka River in January 1861.

Becoming A Martian

Today's blog post is answering some questions about mars,

1. When can a mission to Mars (or from Mars) happen? 2 years Why? because that's when Earth and Mars are the closest.

2. What are 2 geological features of Mars? Mars is like Earth and Venus. Mars has Mountains, Valleys, and volcanos, but the red planets are by far the biggest and most dramatic.

3. What is 1 possible solution from the story about oxygen on Mars? NASA wants to send a machine called MOXIE to mars. MOXIE uses electricity to split carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide and oxygen. NASA entends to send MOXIE in 2020.

4. If it doesn't rain on Mars, where does the water come from? it could've rained there thousand of years ago but it doesn't mean that it won't rain there again.

5. How will people get food on Mars? When the astronauts land on Mars the will have storable food that they can store for a while. What is a possible solution? storable food.

Hero And Villains Story

Today's blog post is bout my Hero And Villains story. My characters are Bobensteine the hero, LazerMan the villain, and CatWoman the Villain. My story is about 2 villains taking school kids going on a school trip hostage and Bobensteine the hero coming to save them, He puts them into the jail but they brake out instantly then 8 years later the 2 villains named LazerMan and CatWoman take Bobensteines Dad hostage and getting him to hand himself in, order to get his Dad back. Anyway, this is the story,

and feel free to come back and read it because it is 8 or more paragraphs long also there will be some drawings I did.

One day a kid called Tyson Drout, a schoolboy that likes everything and is brothers with Henry Drout, went on a school trip. They stopped at a red light and they saw a red beam going right through the bus. 

Through the hole came 2 villains called LazerMan he’s 42. He's bald and has a beard. He hates to socialize with other people also he can shoot lasers out of his eyes. He’s tall and muscly. He got bullied a lot in school and Catwoman. She’s 30 and has shortish hair and also doesn’t like to socialize with people and is also 6 feet tall. Her power is being a cat by that I mean she always lands on her feet and can jump into high spots. They were taking the school kids and teachers hostage, they all were frightened and scared.

 Tyson Drout saw Bobensteine. He's a 36-year-old man that has superhuman strength. His parents got divorced when he was 7. Yelled out “hey everyone looks its Bobensteine he’s coming to save us!”  Everyone was happy to see Bobensteine. Bobensteine lifts up the bus with his superhuman strength and shakes the villains out and throws them into the jail.

 The teachers and the school kids went on with their school trip but just when they thought they were safe they broke out of jail instantly. 

8 years later they had made a base/bunker with high tech weapons that could cut titanium.

they started to sell these weapons to make a tonne of money. One day when they were selling these high tech weapons to a bank robber they were testing them as well and that’s how they got found Bobensteine ran over there and spied on them, his phone rang and it gave his hiding spot away. So he started to fight them but they got into their van too fast but luckily Bobensteine grabbed the doors of the van and ripped them off he got in but one of the high tech weapons were on LazerMans hand so it was like a high tech glove that could blow someone 1km away, Bobensteine got hit with it and he was blown 1km away so LazerMan and that got away.

Bobensteine was so angry he could throw someone 10km. Bobensteine went home and went to sleep. The next morning he turned on his TV and saw the news, he rushed downstairs and went outside to go find LazerMan and CatWomen but as soon as he got outside he realized that he was still in his PJ’s so he went back inside and got dressed. He finally got outside to find LazerMan and CatWomen. The first place he looked was his Mum's house, a divorced 72-year-old woman who has super speed and was the smartest at school. She was fine. He went to his Dad's house, a Divorced 74-year-old man who has superhuman lasers that come out of his eyes and he was gone. There was a note that said to go to ‘Totally Not Going To Kill You Street’, alone. 

Bodensteine was scared because he knew that they wouldn’t play fair. They wouldn’t just give his Dad back, they would want him then let his Dad go but Bobensteine would know that once he handed himself in they would go and get his Mum and Dad but then he realized that he could just throw them right back into jail again with his superhuman strength.

He went to ‘Totally Not Going To Kill You Street’ and saw them waiting for him. Bobensteine went over to them and he saw his Dad scared for his life. LazerMan and CatWoman saw him so they said “well look who showed up” Bobensteine replied, “well how else and I suppose to get my Dad back”. Bodensteine turned himself in and LazerMan took him but Bobensteine ripped out of the handcuffs and punched them both into a really really secure jail that no one has ever broken out of and they lived happily ever after.

The thing I could've done better is to make the story more interesting by maybe doing something like this. As he walked down the creepy bloody hallway he heard a screeching noise coming from behind him. Diary Of Anne Frank

 Hi Bloggers,

Today's blog post is about The Diary Of Anne Frank. World war II started with Hitler hating the Jews and wanting to send them to concentration camps or kill them if they didn't do anyone/were useless. Hitler started taking over the west of Poland so France and Britain declared war against Germany on September 17th, Soviet troops invaded from the east. That's how World War II started. When Anne Frank's family found out that 16 year olds are now being asked to go to a concentration camp they went into hiding because Anne Franks's sister Megan is 16. They hid in an annex at the Dad's work.

Dinosaur Speech

  Today's blog post is about my speech on Dinosaurs. Here is Dinosaur Speech. This is my speech if you want to read it.

                          What are Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are a group of reptiles of the clade Dinosauria. They first appeared during the Triassic period, between 243 and 233.23 million years ago.

Dinosaurs have actually been proven to be warm-blooded creatures according to scientists because of their growth rates.

                              Carnivores

Carnivores prefer to eat meat and not trees or bushes and yes I know what you're thinking. Yes, they do fart.

Velociraptors are one of the smallest Dinos. They can run up to 64km/h and they hunt in a pack of 6 or smaller but they mostly hunt in packs of 6 or 3. They have a clore on both feet on their 3rd toe which they use to kill their prey.

The Tyrannosaurus also known as the T-Rex never use to roar because it had sensitive ears/hearing 

(What did the T-Rex really sound like) That's a video on the T-Rex roaring/not roaring. The T-Rex could run up to 33 miles per hour and usually hunted Edmontosaurus and Triceratops.

The Spinosaurus is a water dino but it mainly goes on land so it's a land and water dino. It has a spine on its back and that's how it got its name Spinosaurus. It mainly hunted fish and it could run 11mph so it didn’t run that fast.

                                           Herbivores

Herbivores prefer to not eat meat; they prefer to eat trees, plants, and bushes. They are basically vegetarians. 65% of dinosaurs were herbivores that means 35% of dinosaurs were Carnivores and yes I know what you're thinking again yes these ones fart as well. There are many types of Herbivores such as the Triceratops and the Brachiosaurus etc.

Triceratops has 3 horns on their heads, 1 where their nose is and 2 above the horn near their nose and the 2 horns are where their ears. They walk on four legs and they weigh 6,000 to 12,000 kgs.

The Brachiosaurus is a tall dinosaur, it’s not the tallest dinosaur but it’s one of them. The Brachiosaurus is around 59ft and eats trees and everything is scared of it other than the other Herbivore. If there was a dinosaur that could kill this dinosaur then they would have most likely been extinct before the meteor hit them and killed them.

The Gallimimus is another Herbivore it walks on 2 legs and always runs away when they know there's trouble. It always walks/runs in a pack. They hate to be alone because they can be killed by Carnivores very easily, especially T-Rex and Velociraptors.
